carlos Sanchez
President and CEO
Carlos Sanchez started his obsession with computers and automation when he received his first PC at 10 years old. Having very little access to games, he decided to start programming to make use of the PC.
When it was time to start high school, he enrolled at Instituto Politecnico Superior General San Martin, a very sought after high school in Argentina where he was living at the time. Every year around 2500 students apply to get in and only 1 in 10 are admitted after taking a rigorous math and language exam. He positioned number 33.
During his formative years he started attending the computer science team lab. The lab consisted in experimenting with different computer languages and algorithms. In 1991 he was selected to represent the school in the South American Informatics Olympics where he obtained the silver medal.
In college he excelled as well where he obtained a scholarship to study mainframe computers, a scholarship only open to sophomore, junior and senior level, but due to his extensive knowledge he was allowed to participate while he was in his freshman year.
Once college was finished he started working with Eisenmann Corp, as an assistant tech. Quickly he demonstrated his skill and was promoted to programmer, engineer and project coordinator. While employed at Eisenmann he participated in teams and later led teams of people that took care of controls engineering for Conveyors and Process within the Automotive Industry. A sample of his projects where MBUSI paintshop and bodyshop conveyors, and Chrysler Windsor conveyors.
His skill was noted by Durr Systems, a competitor. He was asked to jump board, where he got involved with the estimating team. After the team sold a paint-shop for BMW, he was transferred as Electrical Engineering Manager for the project. In this position he oversaw the controls engineering for Conveyors, Air Houses, PT-ED, Scrubbers, Ovens, Body Tracking, etc.
He and his family fell in love with SC's Upstate, so when the project was over they decided to stay in the area. Carlos started working for a System Integrator in 2012 as a Sr. Project Manager, and later evolved into a Sr. Business Development Manager and Key Account Manager. During his tenure, he was involved and led many projects ranging from $5k to $3M. He usually managed several projects and teams at the same time. Projects involved robotics, screwing technology, vision, process equipment and material handling. Industries that he was involved were Automotive, Chemical Process and Energy Renewables.
Carlos is considered a guru in Siemens platform (Simatic Manager and TIA), Zenon visualization and E-plan. He is proficient in Rockwell and Modicon platforms. He also speaks English and Spanish fluidly, and have conversational skills in Portuguese and Italian. Having spent 2 years in Germany he can understand the language and has basic conversational knowledge.
